Obituary
MICHELE VASIL ROBERTS HURLEY, 57, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at SECU Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
She was born on November 21, 1959 in Los Angeles, California and was formerly a resident of Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA. She worked in Information Technology and Data Analytics.
She was a devoted mother and is survived by her two children; Daughter, Rachel Roberts Hendricks and husband, Matthew and her son. Cody Owen Roberts; her mother, Irene Tolvay Dowdy and husband, George; her sister, Alyse Diane Vasil; her brother Joseph S. Vasil and wife, Candy; her niece, Lexie Vasil and nephew, Steven Vasil, an aunt, uncles and several cousins. Also surviving are her former husband and father of her children, Kevin Roberts and former husband and friend, Jeff Hurley. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Andrew Vasil.
Michele enjoyed swimming, tennis and cross stitch. Her 1978, 50 meter butterfly record at the Starclaire Swim Club in Charlotte has never been broken. She was passionate about animals, especially horses and dogs.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her name to your local animal shelter.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 26, 2017, in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte.
The family will receive friends at 10 AM, Saturday, prior to the service.
