Mique Onley Luckett 73, of Leland, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of June 10, 2024. She was surrounded by family and friends. 

Born in Monterey County, CA on December 24, 1950, she was the daughter of the late David Leslie Onley and Lillian Juanita Ferrell Onley. She was preceded by her husband, Thomas James “Tom” Luckett, her brother, Joseph Burch, and sister, Patricia Kinder.

Mique and Tom retired to Sunset Beach in 2004 where they were avid golfers at Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club. Mique was a dedicated parishioner at Saint Brendan’s Catholic Church. She was an avid music fan and enjoyed going to concerts especially Luke Combs. 

Surviving are her daughter Jess McLeod and husband Ian of Leland, NC, sister-in-law, Sheila Burch, Hampton, VA, her aunt, Margaret Horton, Virginia Beach, VA and her granddaughter, Saylor Wynn McLeod whom she loved very much. 

The family would like to extend a tremendous thank you to Mique’s village of caregivers over the past few years. They would especially like to thank the wonderful workers from the Bluefields Memory Care Facility.  

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM in St. Brendan, The Navigator Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte, NC.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, June 17, 2024 in the Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel.
