Myrtle Lee Trest, age 84, of Calabash, NC passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016. A lifelong resident of Brunswick County, she was born on October 27, 1931, daughter of the late Adrian Dozier Long and Vera McLamb Long Hinson. In Addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Roy Trest and her sister, Betty Jo Edge.

Surviving are her son, Roy D. Trest and wife, Donna of Calabash; granddaughter, Tonia Twigg and husband, Bill; great-grandson, Caleb and great-granddaughter, Faith of Shallotte; granddaughter, Jenny Lee Perkins and husband, Scott and great-granddaughter, Grace of Asheville; brother-in-law, Jennings Edge of Calabash; niece, Adrianna Sidelinger and husband, Mike of Shallotte; great nieces, Rebecca and Lauren Sidelinger; nephew, Gary Edge and wife, Debbie of Durham; great-nieces, Anna and Melanie Edge; special friends Buddy and Perlene Stanley and many extended family members.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Shallotte Presbyterian Church with Reverend John Causey officiating. Interment will follow in the McLamb-Anderson Cemetery at Hickman’s Crossroads. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
