Obituary
Olean Duncan Fowler, 93, of Ash, died Thursday, January 16, 2020 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice House of Brunswick, Bolivia.
She was born on June 10, 1926 in Columbus Co, a daughter of the late Lora and Leah King Duncan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Burquin “Doogle” Fowler; sons, Harold Dean Fowler, Dennie Ray Fowler, & Jeff Fowler; brothers, Rev. Edward Duncan, Rev. Robert Lee Duncan, & James Duncan; sister, Eva Mae Fowler; and grandson, Chris Fowler.
Olean retired from Meals on Wheels program as the coordinator at Waccamaw Community Center, Ash. She had a passion for quilting and hosted many “quilt-making” classes through the years at her home. She was also a member of Soldier Bay Baptist Church.
Surviving is her son, Charles W. Fowler, and wife, Debra; daughter, Yvonne Simmons, and husband, Ted, all of Ash; brother, Dotridge “Dot” Duncan, of Supply; sister, Reba Marlowe, and husband, Dale, of Wilmington; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11am on Monday, January 20th in the Long Family Cemetery, Ash.
Family will receive friends from her home.
Honorary casket bearers will be Jesse Ramirez, Kenny Gile, and Dr. Chris Moshoures.
