Pamela Elizabeth Beck

Pamela Elizabeth Beck

Pamela (Pame) Beck of Oak Island, NC passed away on Sept 15, 2025 at her beloved beach home. Born on April 3 1958, Pame lived most of her life in Charlotte, NC and eventually settled close to the sand and ocean that brought her joy and happiness.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 30 years, Edmund; her brother Jim Penny and wife Vickie; her sister Paige Holloway and husband Scott; her nieces Crystal Williams (John), Jordan Haston (Jonathan), and Jami Dawkins (Seth); her nephew, Zachary Penny; and her great-nieces Kenna, Teagan, Caroline, and Cora. She is also survived by her late sister’s husband, Lester Burnette, and several adoring in-laws: Rudi Beck and his wife Johnsie; Helga Leijha; Lisa Shook and her husband David; Dakota Shook; and Gabriel Shook.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Priscilla Burnette; mother and step-father, Mary & Gil Kelley; and her father, Mark Penny.

Pame was a deeply devoted wife, a beloved sister (and sister-in-law), and a cherished aunt (though “2nd Mom” is a much more appropriate title) to her nieces, nephew and great nieces. She lived entirely for her family, and in return they cherished her steadfast love—a love that was so vast that it can’t possibly be captured in words, but it was certainly felt everywhere and by everyone.

She was the definition of a loyal friend. Her nurturing spirit fueled her many friendships, almost all of which have spanned decades. Her deep care for her friends was unmatched; easily one of her most endearing qualities. And she taught us all the value of pouring love into meaningful friendships. This will always be a part of her beautiful legacy.

Pame was the quintessential “hostess with the most-es”. With her at the helm, no detail was ever missed and every gathering overflowed with warmth, comfort and love.  She celebrated every milestone—no matter how small—in the most heartfelt ways and ensured her loved ones always felt special. In the inevitable difficult times, she had a way of filling rooms and our hearts with a sense of peace simply by being herself- full of grace and kindness. Pame was one to move mountains to make those she loved feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Truly, how lucky we were to experience such unwavering love and support.

Pame always found joy in the simplest of things: her many sweet fur babies, a good book, shelling along the shore line, a gal-pal getaway, dinner clubs and game nights. She loved a sunrise or sunset, a front porch with good friends, live beach music, and any time spent with family.

Pame will be remembered for her beautiful soul, her selflessness and her genuine heart. The world was a better place because she was in it. We find peace in knowing that her spirit will live on through her “babies” but her physical absence will be forever felt.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Charlotte, NC on Sunday, October 26th, 2025 at Trio Restaurant (10709 McMullen Creek Parkway). Family invites friends and loved ones to drop in from 2:30pm - 5:00pm to share memories and celebrate Pame’s beautiful life.
