Obituary
Patricia Ann Quinn Crowley, age 87, formerly of Calabash, NC, died Saturday, April 27, 2024, at
the New Haven Senior Living Community in Little River, SC, surrounded by her family. Patricia was born on July 10, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY to Robert and Theresa Rueck Quinn and grew up and married in New York City. She lived in New York City/Long Island for most of her life and always considered New York her home.
She was married to Christopher “Mickey” Crowley for 62 years, until his passing in 2019, and raised their children in Elmhurst, NY, and Centereach, NY. Patricia was a registered nurse for over 40 years and received her bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s University. She worked at St. John’s Hospital in Elmhurst and then, for over 25 years, at Stony Brook University as the Head Nurse in the University’s Student Health Center where she loved helping the students with their various ailments and issues. After retirement, Patricia and Mickey enjoyed traveling the world, visiting such exotic spots as Egypt, China, Australia, and several countries in South America. Patricia was an avid reader and an unofficial member of a couple of book clubs, where her insights and opinions were always sought and welcomed. Patricia's real passion was her family, and she was most happy when the entire family was able to spend time together.
Patricia is survived by her son: Timothy Crowley (Lorraine) of Ventnor City, NJ; daughters: Theresa Crowley (Janet Capuano) of Calabash, NC; Kathleen Yllanes (Guy) of Calabash, NC; Joanne Gryski (Marty) of Herndon, VA; and Christine Sales (John) of Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren: Megan (Justin), Katelyn (Christopher), Christopher, Daniel (Megan), Zachary (Daniel), Alexandra, Marty, Benjamin, Nicholas, Amanda, and Luke, great-grandchildren: Jake, Madison, Emma, Mackenzie, Maisie, and Beau.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Brunswick Funeral Service 5229 Ocean Hwy W Shallotte, NC 28470. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church 5101 Ocean Hwy W Shallotte, NC with burial to follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte, NC.
