Patricia Ann Goff Godbey, age 76 died Saturday June 1, 2024, at McLeod Seacoast in Little River, SC.
Patti was born in Parkersburg, WV on June 19, 1947, to Clifford Thomas and Wanda Oleta Elder Goff. Throughout her life, she wore many hats, embarking on a diverse array of careers. From her early days working in a garment factory to her roles as an E.M.T., a postal worker, a dedicated teacher and substitute educator, an adult educator, a Belk associate, and even a house cleaner, Patti's professional path was a testament to her versatility and drive. Patti was deeply committed to her family and community, volunteering for the local election board and playing an active role in her church. Her life was a tapestry woven with service, dedication, and a profound impact on those around her.
She is survived by her daughters: Terri Weiford (Mike) of Harrisville, WV; Kelly Haught of Bridgeport, WV; foreign exchange daughter: Olaug Annethe Trøan; step children: Steve Godbey (Cyndi) of Tallahassee, FL; Mark Godbey (Devon) of Huntington, WV; Jon Godbey of Charleston, WV; Mindy Walker (Larry) of Dunbar, WV; grandchildren: Hannah and Austin Weiford and Sydney McDonald; step grandchildren: Amanda Godbey, Andrew and Madison Walker; brother: Dwight Goff (Dedra) of Parkersburg, WV; sister: Beverly Dianne Crysler of Sunset Beach, NC; nieces and nephew: Kristen, Valerie, Jack and Rachel, step great granddaughter Livi-Jean Louise Godbey; canine companion, Harley David Sen; and her grand-dogs Boots and Remington. In addition to her parents, Patti was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Luther A. Godbey Jr. and her step-grandson, Jeffrey Godbey.
The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel 5229 Ocean Hwy W. Shallotte, NC with Pastor George Pauley officiating.
