Obituary
Patrick Oliver Rowland, aged 82, of Calabash, NC passed away on December 18th with his family at his side. Beloved husband to Anne, proud father of Margaret (Frank), Debra, Patrick (Deanna), Stephen (Carolyn), and loving Grandfather to Adrienne, Thomas, Jonathan, Mckenzie, Aubrie, Emma, Patrick, and Hailey.
Patrick emigrated from his home in Crossmolina Co. Mayo, Ireland to the United States but never forgot his Irish roots. He loved the music, the food, and sharing stories of his youth with his children and grandchildren. He served in the US Army from 1959-1962 and went on to work for Con Edison, retiring in 1998. His retirement travels took him to Ireland and New Zealand to visit family, before relocating to Calabash NC where he enjoyed spending time with Anne, his friends, fishing, and having his family visit.
He was a true gentleman, loved by all. He will be remembered for his easy humor, loyalty, and friendship, and for all the ways he helped his family and friends
May he rest in eternal peace.
A Mass will be celebrated on December 23, 2020 at 10:00 am in St. Brendan, The Navigator Catholic Church, Shallotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice in memory of Patrick.
