Obituary
Peter J Simons, 92, of Sunset Beach, NC, died at home March 2, 2023. He was born in Litchfield County, CT, on January 25, 1931, a son of Antonio Simoes Simons and Rose Simons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers,Anthony Simons, Robert Simons, Daniel Simons; granddaughter Christine Donorfio; and step-son, Robert Famiglietti.
Mr Simons proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a toolmaker, retiring from Litton Industries in November 1994. He enjoyed traveling and after retirement, he and his wife ,Barbara, enjoyed traveling cross country several times. He also enjoyed hosting summer family reunions at his home. In his leisure time he was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading, puzzles and gardening. He was an avid fan of UCONN Basketball.
Early in life Peter was a little league coach, member of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of St Mary Magdalen church.
In addition to his beloved wife, Barbara Feltman Simons, he is survived by his son Peter J (Susan) Simons Jr; daughter Lynn (Robert) Marinaro; brother Joseph (Barbara) Simons; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and step-children, R John (Jodi) Famiglietti; Stacey Famiglietti; and Thomas Famiglietti.
Services will be held in Watertown CT.
