Phillip Ray Tysinger

Phillip Ray Tysinger, 72, of Lumber City, Georgia, died March 9, 2019, in Hazelhurst, Georgia. He was born in Whiteville, NC, on July 26, 1947, a son of Harold “Tony” Tysinger and Irene King Tysinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Tysinger and his Paternal and Maternal Grandparents. During the Vietnam War, Phillip proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airplane Specialist and Airplane Mechanic. He was an avid landscaper and owner of Tysinger's Nursery in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for twenty years.

He moved to Georgia fifteen years ago, but maintained many strong friendships from his days at Waccamaw High School where he was a popular member of the Baseball Team. He was kind and gentle, witty, and fun to be with. Phil enjoyed woodworking, but his real passion was his family and friends.

Surviving are his son Phillip “Brandon” Tysinger and his wife Shelia of Shallotte; granddaughters, Lindsey, Kaitlyn, and Ryleigh Tysinger of Shallotte; grandsons, Christopher Tysinger of South Jordan, Utah, and Hunter Ward and Nathan Ward of Whiteville; and his beloved fur baby Rufus.

Family and Friends are kindly invited to a Celebration of Phil’s Life at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. The Rev. Brad Ferguson will officiate.
