Phillip Wallace Russ, 79, Ocean Isle Beach, NC (Russtown) died November 29, 2023.
Born in Ash, NC on July 7, 1944, he was a son of the late Percy Herman Russ and Lottie Lay Wilson Russ. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Russ, a sister, Phoebe Hawes, and step-father Anson Ludlum.
He retired from the Brunswick County Public Utilities Department, he was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.
Surviving are his wife Brenda Hewett Russ; sons, Reverend Jeff Russ (Laural), Beulaville, NC, and Chris Russ (Robin), Ocean Isle Beach, NC; sister, Judy Russ, Ocean Isle Beach, NC; grandchildren, Christian, Jeremy, Holly, Seth, Sumner, Dallas, and Emmy; great-grandchildren, Acacia (AJ), Grayson, Ayvan, Lainey, and Olivia.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 3:00 pm in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte, NC, officiated by the Reverend Larry Melton and Phil’s sons. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
