Obituary
Ray Lewis Hewett, 91, Ocean Isle Beach, NC died July 6, 2026.
Born in Brunswick County, NC on November 16, 1934, he was a son of the late Cecil Calvin Hewett and Frances Inez Hewett Hewett. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Christine Mintz Hewett and a brother Wayne Hewett.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and prior to retirement he owned and operated Brunswick Wholesale Company.
Surviving are daughters Connie Babson (Jeff) and Robin Hammond (Shane); sisters, Carol Mercer and Frances Cox; grandchildren, Colt and Taylor.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 10, 2026 at 3:00 pm in the Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on at 2:00 pm prior to the services at the funeral home.
