Obituary
Raymon Junius Dickson Jr., 77, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away on February 16, 2025. He was born on June 30, 1947, in Sumter, South Carolina, to Frances Bozeman Dickson and Raymon Dickson, both of whom preceded him in death.
Raymon served in the U.S. Navy for four years. From there, he dedicated 52 years of his life as a lineman, a profession he was passionate about and loved deeply. He earned a bachelor’s degree and used his knowledge and experience to make a lasting impact on the community. In addition to his work in the field, Raymon started a lineman program at Brunswick Community College, where he taught for three years, imparting his knowledge to the next generation of linemen.
Raymon’s love for hunting, fishing, and hosting gatherings were hallmarks of his personality. Raymon will be remembered as a hardworking, loving, and proud man whose legacy will live on through all those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Raymon was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife of 11 years, Deborah Dickson, and his children: Von (Butch) Crosby, Sonya (Jerry) Colvin, Michael (Traci) Dickson, and the late Ryan Dickson. He is also survived by his stepchildren: Andrew (Molly) Ennis, Christina (Cary) Degler, Heather (Kenny) Russell, and Amanda Emanuel. Raymon was a grandfather to numerous grandchildren, each of whom he cherished the moments spent with them.
A celebration of Raymon’s life will take place at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Fallen Linemen Organization or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in his honor.
