Richard Hedgecock

Richard Hedgecock of Oak Island, NC passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the age of 67 years old. He was raised in High Point, NC by parents Marshall and Ruth Hedgecock. He is survived by his wife Gail Hedgecock, son Chad Hedgecock, daughter Nicole Yeh, son-in-law Oscar Yeh, grandchildren, Evelyn and Edwin, and brothers David Hedgecock and Michael Hedgecock. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Nancy Stott, Rayma Wrenn, and Joseph Hedgecock.

He was a graduate of N.C. State and proudly worked in the textile industry for over 30 years. After living in Whiteville, NC for 28 years he happily retired to the beach with his wife. He was an avid golfer and loved beach life. He was very active in his church community and also volunteered with the American Cancer Society. 

He was a loyal husband, loving father, doting grandfather, and caring friend. He will be missed dearly. 

A memorial service and interment will be held at Southport Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 am with reception to follow.
