Obituary
Richard W. Meyer, age 90 of Bolivia, NC passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Whiteville, NC.
He was born in Montclair, NJ on October 14, 1930, the son of the late George Philip Meyer and Margaret Ryan Meyer and was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Catherine Meyer, two brothers, George Meyer and Harold Meyer.
Mr. Meyer was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was affiliated with the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company for 40 years until his retirement. He loved spending time at the Brunswick County Senior Center in Supply. He was an avid golfer and also loved music and art. He loved supporting his grandson during his soccer, baseball, and other sporting activities and never missed a game.
Surviving are his son, Michael G. Meyer and wife, Judy of Bolivia, NC; a grandson, Paul Meyer and wife, Marnay of Silver Spring, MD; one great-grandson, Brendan Meyer; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, “Augie”.
A celebration of Mr. Meyer’s life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, January 15, 2021 at Brunswick Funeral Service, Southport/Oak Island Chapel.
