Bob Bobinski age 88, of Sunset Beach, North Carolina and formerly from Peapack-Gladstone, New Jersey, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Center in Bolivia, North Carolina.

Bob was born in Bayonne, New Jersey on January 28, 1930. He is the son of the late Bruno and Henrietta Bobinski. Surviving is his wife of 24 years Joan Elizabeth Bobinski, daughter Lynn (Andrew), sons Robert Jr (Gabi) and Richard, stepdaughter Sheri (Michael) and eight grandchildren.

Bob served his country for four years in the Naval Reserve and four years in the U.S. Army stationed in France.

Bob worked at AT&T for 42 years. Upon retiring from AT&T, Bob sold real estate with Coldwell Banker in New York and New Jersey. Bob and Joan retired to Sunset Beach in 1994. Bob continued to keep busy with volunteer and charity work, spending the rest of his life helping others. He was a tutor with the Brunswick County Literacy Council, and he served on the board of Brunswick Family Assistance. He was a Red Cross volunteer and Shelter Manager during hurricanes. He was the president of the Sea Trail POA, and the chairperson for both the ABC POA and Long-Range Planning committees. He was a Sunset Beach Councilman from 2005-2011, and served on the North Carolina Association of ABC boards from 2011-2014.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice. The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Brunswick Funeral Service, Hwy 17, Shallotte. Reception immediately following at the Sea Trail Pink Palace, Clubhouse Road.
