Robert Major Wheatley (Bob) 80 of Supply, NC, sadly passed away on December 11, 2022 after ongoing medical problems, his family was by his side. Bob was born in St. Louis Missouri, to Loren and Bernice Wheatley.
Bob served in the Army as a weapons specialist. After the service he was a jack of all trades including carpentry, elevator installation, sales, and construction. In his later years he was the owner/operator of a food truck “Bob Dogs”. In his younger years he loved fast cars and owned a Mercury Cyclone GT and a 1968 Mustang. He would talk about living across from the Charlotte speedway and hanging out with the mechanics and was able to meet Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Bob was known for his sense of humor and kindness. He was telling jokes right to the end.
Bob and his wife Margaret were together for more than 50 years and had 8 children and 24 grandchildren as well as 1 great grandchild.
Bob is survived by his beautiful wife Margaret of Supply, NC. And living with them, two of their granddaughters Abigail Mullin and Alanna Mullin. Bob is survived by children Betsy Calabria (Richard), Rebecca Wheatley (Roy), Rachel Wheatley (Ruben), Joshua Wheatley, Jennifer Wheatley. Bob is also survived by two sisters, Sue Oley of Manlius, NY and Sandra Stewart of Ocala, Florida. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was pre-deceased by two sons Loren Robert Wheatley and John Robert Wheatley and daughter Tina Marie Anthony as well as both his parents Loren Robert Wheatley and Bernice Marion Wheatley. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2;00 PM, Monday, December 19, 2022, at Brunswick Funeral Service, Southport Chapel, 3479 Southport/Supply Road, Bolivia, NC.
