The Reverend Robert Terry Rea, 85, of Southport, NC, died May 26, 2023. He was born in Hamlet, NC on September 6, 1937, a son of Hugh L. Rea and Mary M. Lowe Rea. He was a retired Baptist Minister and a member of Oak Island Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, he served Friendship Baptist Church and New Life Baptist Church, both in Ash, NC.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Tarlton Rea; two sons, Robert T. Rea (Jan) of Grand View, MO, and Michael L. Rea (Lisa) of Wilmington, NC; sister, Lynda Black of Dalton, GA; and granddaughter, Carmen Elizabeth Rea of Rock Hill, SC.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Bolivia, NC. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
