Robert Lewis Evans, 80, Sunset Beach, NC, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 29, 1937, he was a son of the late David J. Evans and Isabelle Grofesik Evans. He was retired from the Exxon Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Weiss Evans, Brooklyn, and sisters, Jean Evans Swenson, Tucson, AZ and Ann Evans Riley, Calverton, NY.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Hardison Evans; sons, Bob Evans, Jr (Marilyn) of Long Island, NY, Kenneth Evans (Marie) of Somers, NY, Keith Evans (Pamela) of Southport, CT, Scott Evans (Charlene) of Long Island, NY, Christopher Evans of Delray Beach, FL, and Bryan Riggsbee (Erin)of Park City, UT; and a daughter, Traci R. Norris (Steve) of Ash, NC. Also surviving are his brother, William Evans (Barbara) of Rockville Center, NY; sister Betty Compton (Pete) of Rockville Center, NY; 19 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Services will be conducted on Monday, February 20 at 12:00 PM in Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 1414 Physician Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
