Roger Wayne Hewett, 73, Ash, NC died on April 10, 2021.
Born in Brunswick County, NC on November 11, 1947, he was the son of the late Elton Hewett and Elneda Reaves Hewett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Wayne Hicken.
He was a graduate of Shallotte High School, Class of 1966, a US Army veteran, and retired from Atlantic Telephone Membership Corporation as Outside Plant Manager. His greatest hobbies were hunting and fishing, most times with his grandson.
Surviving is his wife, Bernice Hewett Hewett; daughter, Robin H. Hicken, Ash, NC and his grandson, Tanner, his constant companion; sister, Anita H. Jackson (Ellis), Ash, NC; two special nieces, Kayla Smith (Mark Smith), Stacy Hewett (Brian Hewett), and three great nephews and a great niece.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the Gore Cemetery, Ash, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Masks and social distancing will be observed.
