Ron Zemke
Obituary
Ron passed away suddenly on 1/3/18. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter Jill Van Nostrand, sons: Brad Snell (Diane), Scott Zemke (Cleo), Jeff Snell (Lori), Mark Zemke (Denise), his brother Dan Zemke, sister Suzanne Kucharewski (Nick), several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ron grew up in Buffalo NY. After college he worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester NY as a polymer chemist for many years. Upon leaving Kodak, his next adventure took him into the home improvement arena. He worked in that field for several years in Rochester. Then in 2006 Ron and Margaret moved to Shallotte and purchased WindowZ, Inc.
One of the happiest, most cheerful people you will ever meet, Ron’s first love was his family. A very close second was his work and his business. He was very proud of the WindowZ team and considered them a second family.
While we will miss him every day, we carry with us many wonderful memories. We are very grateful for the support of our families, friends and people in the community at this very difficult time.
Ron was a member of the Brunswick County Homebuilders, the Myrtle Beach Home Builders and the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce. He was a board member of the International Hurricane Protection Association.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, January 12, 2018 from the Chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers we ask you contribute to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Brunswick County First Responders or a charity of your choice.
The family invites you to a reception following the servie at the South Brunswick Island Shrine Club, 4911 Old Shallotte Road.
