Ronald Herbert Meyer
February 12, 1937—January 3,2025
Ronald Herbert Meyer, 87, of Shallotte, NC passed peacefully into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on January 3, 2025, after a long illness.
Mr. Meyer, formally of Union County New Jersey, had spent the past 25 years living life to the fullest in the Carolinas.
He was predeceased by his parents Pauline (Bednar) Meyer and Herbert Meyer and his daughter Donna Lynn Meyer.
Ronald worked as a machinist who contributed to the aeronautical and civil space programs. Ron’s smile put a sparkle in his eyes and lit up a room. He enjoyed collecting lighthouses, Norman Rockwell memorabilia and camping. In addition, Ron was a consummate tinkerer who enjoyed nothing more than creating/repairing things, spending time with family and friends and helping anyone at any time with anything.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 65 years (Sara) Jane (Mahar) Meyer; his twin daughters and their husbands Cathy and Bob Colaneri and Colleen and George Goeller; five grandchildren Crista, Robert (and wife Joni), Jared (and wife Nicole), Vincent and Jenna; three great grandchildren Mia, Savannah and Leo; a fur baby Willow and many dearly loved friends and extended family members.
