Ronald Lee Snyder, Jr.

Ronald “Rusty” Lee Snyder, Jr., born on April 3, 1958, in Hagerstown, MD. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and spouse who touched the lives of many. He lived a life filled with a passion for helping others, compassion for animals, and a witty sense of humor, and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

Ronald Lee Snyder, Jr. is survived by his wife Doreen (nee) Miller Snyder, his sister Kathi Johnson, his brother James “Jamie” Snyder, his sister-in-law Pam Snyder, his cousin Pamela Harr, cousin Karen Wrenn, cousin Jodi Scheetz, niece Allie Snyder Dattilio and her husband Mark, niece Alexis (nee) Lockley Pierre and her husband Andre, niece Addison Snyder, niece Marlie Snyder, great nephew Ward Dattilio, great niece Juniper Dattilio, great nephew James Dattilio, and great niece Catherine Dattilio.

He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Lee Snyder, Sr., his mother Anita Hatfield Snyder, and his nephew Avery Snyder.

Throughout his life, Rusty achieved his Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, where he was an active member and brother of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He also spent a year as an exchange student at the University of London. Rusty achieved the President’s Club Award ten times for his excellence in solutions selling during his 30+ years in the telecommunications and contact center software industry. He served on the Board of Directors for the Rivers Edge Long Range Planning Committee and was a member of the Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International, and previously served as the President of the Pine Parkway Homeowner’s Association in Darien, IL. He also sold Medicare supplemental insurance during the past several years and was a co-owner of Brunswick Organizing Solutions. 

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Rusty always wanted to be an Architect. He was blessed to have been able to design his and Doreen’s dream home. He also had a passion for landscaping, koi ponds, his pets, playing tennis, pickleball, and traveling to the Big Island in Hawaii. 

A visitation and memorial service to celebrate Ronald “Rusty” Lee Snyder, Jr.'s life will be held starting at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Brunswick Funeral Service (at 5229 Ocean Highway West, Shallotte, NC 28470). Friends and family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rotary International Foundation. 

The family would like to express their gratitude to the dedicated caregivers and medical professionals at Duke University Hospital and the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, for their compassionate care during Rusty's final days.
