Obituary
Rose Joseph, 92, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and formerly of Interlochen, MI, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2018.
A daughter of the late Giuseppe and Giovanna Vassallo, born on July 20, 1926, in Detroit, MI. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Albert, and son Kenneth.
After graduating from high school, Rose went to work for Michigan Bell Telephone Company in the business office. Other than when her children were young, Rose worked there until her retirement in 1985. After retirement, Rose devoted much of her time to volunteering. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Christine Poniatowski (Robert) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; grandchildren, Wendi, Rebecca; and great-grandchildren, Natalie, Rose, Daniella, and Lily.
A prayer service will be celebrated at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11am. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Holly, MI with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Inurnment will immediately follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly MI at 12:30 p.m.
Memorial donations in Rose’s name can be directed to Lower Cape Fear Hospice at 955 Mercy Ln SE, Bolivia, NC 28422.
