Obituary
Samuel Tobias Formyduval, 80, of Shallotte passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He was a son of Alma Burke Formyduval and Dessie Milligan Formyduval. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sammie Jo Griffin; sisters, Minnie Nance and Patricia Anderson; and brothers, Ishmael and Latham.
Sam was a US Army Retiree with twenty-six years of service to his country. He served several tours in Vietnam as a Green Beret in Special Forces.
Surviving are his wife, Bettie King Formyduval; son, Adam Formyduval of Shallotte; daughter, Kelly Taylor (Thom) of St. Louis; sister, Geraldine Inman (Larry) of Charlotte; and two grandchildren, Morgan and Cassie.
Services will be conducted at 12:30 PM Saturday at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte, by Sam’s nephew, Gary Nance. Interment will be in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
