Sarah (Sally) Ruth Scott died August 5, 2022. She was born in Miami, Florida, on January 19, 1936, the youngest of nine children to Mary R. Parrish and Clyde C. Parish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar (Sonny) Leroy Scott; daughters, Marie Scott Roberts and Terry M. Scott; two sisters and six brothers.

Sarah and Sonny lived in Miami, Florida, until their move to Shallotte in 1989. She was an avid Miami Dolphins Fan sitting on the fifty yard line at every home game in the Orange Bowl in Miami until her move to North Carolina. She was a fan of all Miami Sports Teams and all things Miami. She loved NASCAR and her driver #29 Martin Truex, Jr.

Sarah and Sonny lived in Brunswick Shores surrounded by the most wonderful and beloved neighbors and family. Sarah was a member of Shallotte Presbyterian Church where she was devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ. She served as an Elder and committed her time to Adult Bible Study and various Circle groups including Celebration Circle. She was a volunteer at the Shallotte Point Volunteer Fire Department where she served on the board, and assisted with various fund raising efforts especially the Shallotte Point Flounder Tournament.

When Sarah walked into a room, there were no strangers; she lit up the room. Her bright eyes and infectious smile will never be duplicated.

Surviving are her sons, Steve Scott and Randy Scott; son-in-law, Ricardo (Ricky) Roberts; granddaughters, Stephanie Jimerson (Steve) and Heather Scott (Randy); great grandson, Andy Scott; great great grandson, Andrew Scott; and many truly loved nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many friends and family who cherish her beautiful spirit.

Memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Shallotte Presbyterian Church.
