Sharon Tucker, 75, wife and mother, died peacefully Monday, January 3, 2022, at her home in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina with her husband of 53 years at her side.

     Sharon was born as Sharon Elaine Anderson in 1946, in Cold Springs, Alabama, to Elmer and Eunice (Stricklin) Anderson.

     Sharon is survived by her husband James “Jim” Tucker, her son and his wife, Eric and Katherine Tucker, and two granddaughters, Ashley and Caroline Tucker. She is also survived by two brothers and one sister. Dan Anderson and his wife Francis reside in Cold Springs, Alabama, Donald Anderson resides in Albertville, Alabama, and Ruby Mae Petcher lives in Huntsville, Alabama.

      Sharon started her career working in hospital administration, moving on to several miscellaneous jobs to help put Jim through college. She became a housewife and mother when Eric was born and returned to work when Eric entered high school. She retired from US Airways in 2002 as a customer service representative. After retiring she relocated to coastal Brunswick County, North Carolina. Always able to make friends easily she was active in the community, Sea Turtle preservation and America’s Boating Club –Northstrand.

      Sharon fought a longtime illness related to Lupus. It affected her in a myriad of ways ultimately leading to her death. Donations in lieu of flowers are requested to the Lupus Foundation of America (https://www.lupus.org)

     Memorial service (celebration of life) will be held at a future date due to Covid and family members being distant. A virtual memorial service will be released soon.
