January 18, 2022 as a new day dawned , Shirley Helen Ceglarski ( Ward) , 70 of Bolivia , North Carolina peacefully took her last breath in this life ushering in her first breath in heaven .

Shirley was born on March 4 , 1951 to Charles R ( Bob ) and Elizabeth Kingston Ward ( Betty ) of Ogdensburg , New York . After graduating from Ogdensburg Free Academy , Shirley went on to serve in the United States Airforce honorably with the rank of Airman .  Shortly after her service she  met and married the love of her life James Kevin Ceglarski of Dedham Massachusetts . That 50 year marriage brought her great joy and blessed with 2 children ; Lynn Ann and Shelly Jo .

Shirley’s purpose in life was not only as a devoted wife and mother but also as a nurse to which she gave  selflessly for 27 years .Graduating at the top of her LPN class the majority of her career was spent caring for uniformed service members and their families .  Serving as a nurse  brought her great happiness and fulfillment .

Shirley is survived by her husband James K. Ceglarski , Bolivia NC , Daughters  :Lynn Ann Ogden , Hope Mills NC . Shelly Horniak ( Chris ) Bolivia , NC . Sister  :Yvette Ward Ogdensburg, NY . Sister in Law : Patricia Ward of Morristown , NY . Brother in Law : Gordon Ward   of Watertown , NY . 5 Grandchildren : Samantha , Tonya , Mason , Julian , Michelle . 3 Great grands : James Heath , Barrett and Luca as well as several nieces and nephews .

Shirley is predeceased by her parents :Charles Robert ( Bob ) Ward , Elizabeth ( Betty) Kingston Ward – Ogdensburg , NY . Brother : Michael  Ward – Morristown , NY  Sister : Nancy Ward Watertown , NY .

Shirleys requested no immediate services be held and we honor that wish . However , there will be a celebration of her life this coming spring at her family home on the St Lawrence River , Prescott Ontario .

Donations may be made in Shirleys memory to SECU Family House , Wilmington NC or NHRMC Foundation .  Services entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Service Southport – Oak Island NC .
