Obituary
Stanley J. Parker, of Oak Island, NC, died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 with loving family by his side. He was 63 years old.
Stan, as he was known, was the very loving father of Brian S. Parker of Los Angeles, CA and Sara S. Parker of Charlotte, NC.
Stan was the son of the late John S. and Patricia Parker (Peel).
In addition to his children, Stan will be missed tremendously by his many brothers and sisters, Patricia Smagala (Thomas) of Frederick, CO, John S. Parker (Debra) of Catasauqua, PA, Linda Salko (Daniel) of Walnut Port, PA, Andrew Parker of Levitown, PA, Barbara Heasley (David) of Douglassville, PA, Laura Callander (John) of Douglassville, PA and Anthony Parker (Barbara) of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.
Born in Philadelphia, Stan was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, Eagles and Phillies. Stan was a retired lineman for Verizon after 30 some years of service. He was a loyal and generous friend, always offering a helping hand. He was creative and enjoyed woodworking in retirement often surprising family and friends with a ‘little something’ he built, like a bar, porch swing or cooler cart. Stan also loved cars, having owned several muscle cars over the years. Stan was also a staunch supporter of military veterans and police and fire organizations.
