Stella Hardee Jenrette
Dec. 10, 1920 – June 5, 2017
Born on December 10, 1920, in a little house in Bolivia, NC. Stella Hardee married Jerome Jenrette on February 13, 1937. She was the youngest of seven children born to George and Lenora Hickman Hardee. She was beloved by her four children: Cheryl Thomas, Jeanette Steinberg, Jerra Jenrette, and Terry Jenrette. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sons and daughters-in- law, and many others.
Stella was full of love, laughter, and faith throughout her long and blessed life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty five years, Jerome; her siblings; and her “sisters of the heart,” Edith and Lona.
Stella became part of the church triumphant on Monday, June 5, 2017. Though she has departed from this life, she lives in our hearts forever.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm, Friday, June 9, 2017 in Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church, Hickman’s Crossroads. Internment will follow at McKeithan Cemetery, Ash, NC. A visitation will be conducted Thursday, June 8 from 6 to 8pm at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte.
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made in her name to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, Brunswick County Care Center, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
