Susan Fulton MacCallum, 77, of Southport passed away peacefully on March 12, 2024 after a lengthy battle with dementia. Sue was surrounded in love by her husband, Jim, her sister, Meg, and by the love of friends and family.

Sue was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts. She then turned to a life-long career in the arts as a performer, director and choreographer of local and regional productions.

Sue received the Governor’s Award for Volunteerism and was the winner of the Brunswick County Dancing with the Stars competition.

Above all such accomplishments, Sue will ever be known as a kind and gentle lady, always thinking of others above herself.

The family expresses great thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice, Robin Weiss and the staff of the Landings at Oak Island.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dementia Alliance if North Carolina.
