Susan Yountz Jessie, daughter of Harold and Evelyn Yountz, was born December 20, 1947, in Winston-Salem, NC. She entered into the presence of the Lord, Sunday January 11, 2026 at the age of 78. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, January 14,2026 at 1:00 pm in Living Water Baptist Church, 1569 Hwy 9 E, Longs, SC 29568. Burial to follow at Mintz Cemetery, 307 Mintz Cemetery Rd. NW, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. Family will receive friends at 11:30 am prior to the service, other times at the home.

Susan grew up in Winston-Salem alongside her brother, David, and her twin sister, Sandra. Though Susan and Sandra were separated by many miles for 58 years, their hearts remained bonded as only twins can be. Susan was the beloved wife of Ronald F. Jessie Sr. for 54 years. Joyful and full of life, Susan never met a stranger. At church, she was affectionately known as “Sunshine” because she lit up every room she entered with her radiant personality and smile. She loved and served the Lord with all her heart, fighting the good fight with unwavering courage and strength until the Lord called her home and said, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David Yountz; and her son, Ronald F. Jessie Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ronald F. Jessie Sr.; her twin sister, Sandra Brockhausen (Ed); her children, Kimberly Allen, Pamela Huffman (Rodney), and Robert Jessie (Lisa); her grandchildren, Dalton Manring, Jeremy Huffman, Christopher Allen, Adam Jessie, Alyssa Huffman, Jackson Blair, and Lucas Blair; four great-grandchildren; and a large circle of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for their exemplary care of Susan and her loved ones during this journey.
