Sylvia Irene Franklin, 77, of Supply, NC, passed away on September 26, 2023. Born on May 30, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio, Sylvia was the loving daughter of Raymond Jennings Vannoy and Helen Mae Vannoy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Franklin Sr, her sister Barbara Ann Riley, and her brother Jay Vannoy.

Sylvia was a devoted mother to her sons Thomas Franklin Jr, Todd Franklin, and Timothy Franklin. She is also survived by her sister Mary Vannoy, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sylvia served her country with honor and dedication in the United States Navy from August 8th, 1973, to August 8th, 1976, as a Hospital Corpsman Petty Officer 3rd Class. After her military service, Sylvia pursued a career as an Administrator at Sunny Point. Sylvia loved all animals, but she particularly loved cats. She later started her own cleaning service and pet care business.

When her health allowed, Sylvia enjoyed playing golf. She was also a dedicated member of Sharon Methodist Church, finding guidance and solace in her faith. Sylvia actively participated in charitable and volunteer work through the church, and she would often bring cookies to the local Fire Station during holidays.

A funeral service to honor Sylvia's life will be held at Brunswick Funeral Services, located at 5229 Ocean Highway West in Shallotte, NC on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jim Pegan officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.

Contributions in her memory can be made to Sharon Methodist Church, or your favorite charity.
