She was the youngest of three children. She was a 1981 graduate of Terry Sanford High School where she met Alton Hare Jr. They were married in 1980 and had their son Alton in 1984. Her daughter Amanda was born in 1993. During her life, she resided in Shallotte, Fayetteville (Hope Mills), and, most recently, Wilmington, NC.
Her favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends. She loved spending time at the beach and at church. She was a member of many congregations. She was actively involved in The Bridge Church when she lived near the beach in Shallotte. She loved going to the movies, reading a good book, and of course the beach. The next movie she was going to see was Bohemian Rhapsody. She enjoyed lunch dates with friends, shopping, church, and family. She kept in contact with many friends from high school, especially members of the band. Everyone knew she was the best clarinet player. She was looking forward to an upcoming reunion.
