Obituary
Terence (Terry) Mulligan, of Shallotte, NC passed away on November 10, 2023, while surrounded by family. He was 75 years old.
Terry was born in Phoenix, Arizona on November 14, 1947. He was the son of John and Nancy Mulligan. He had three younger sisters, whom he adored. He attended high school in Palatine, IL, where he earned the “All Chicago” distinction for baseball. While in the United States Navy, Terry served on the flight deck of the USS Forrestal and spent two years of service in Rota, Spain. He graduated from Judson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He married his devoted wife, Jacqueline Marin, in 2002.
Terry worked in several industries throughout his career including law enforcement, sales management, and real estate. Some of Terry’s hobbies included jogging, golf, and painting. Terry had six children with his previous wife, Elaine Mulligan. He spent many years coaching his sons’ Little League Baseball teams.
Terry was a source of strength to his friends and family. He was gifted at encouraging others and making those around him feel loved. Terry was a man of deep faith. He frequently spoke of God’s love and faithfulness.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Marin; his children, John (Ruth) Mulligan, Katie Jo (Garrett) Williams, Colin Mulligan, Ryan Mulligan, Kelly (Eugene) Hernandez, and Christie (Brett) Chamberlain; his stepchildren Christopher (Monica) Rice, Melissa (Jason) See; his grandchildren, Gabrielle Beacham, Liam See, Jonah See, Elliana See, Alena Mulligan, Elsie Hernandez, John Mulligan, Bridger Williams, and Judah Mulligan. Terry is also survived by his loving sisters, Mary Yaskin and Pat (Mike) Hurt and his brother-in-law Pete Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nancy Mulligan, his sister, Colleen Fleming, and stepson, Karl Anderson.
Terry will be remembered for his love of the Lord, his gentle nature, and his joyful outlook on life.
A memorial service will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 9:00 am. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
