Thelma Dianne McKeithan Mabry was born July 12, 1953, in Southport, NC. She went to her Heavenly home on December 27, 2023. 

She was the daughter of the late Jessie Dallas McKeithan and Letha Phelps McKeithan. She was predeceased in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Mabry, two sisters, Laura Johnson and Janice Evans, a brother, Allen McKeithan, a nephew, Brent Evans Sr., and a great-niece Samantha Spencer. 

Dianne was a 1971 graduate of Waccamaw High School and in her younger years played softball through Brunswick County Parks and Recreation. She was an employee of the National Spinning Company in Whiteville, NC for over 25 years. She was also a former member of the Waccamaw Fire and Rescue Department serving as an Emergency Medical Technician. She was an active member of New Life Baptist Church where, she served as a Sunday School Teacher, helped with Vacation Bible School, and supported the various programs of the church. She was well known for her love of the NC State Wolfpack and for making cupcakes for many local school children.

Dianne is survived by her “children,” 3 nieces, Shelby Johnson Spencer, Rhonda Evans Benton, and Joyce McKeithan Stocks and 3 nephews Jeff Long, Jerry Long and Sam Johnson. She is also survived by 12 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nephews: a sister, Barbara Long, a brother-in-law Rifton Evans and her special cousins Doug, Wanda, and Cindi McKeithan. She also leaves behind many close friends and relatives. 

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 10:00 am at New Life Baptist Church in Ash, NC. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Following the service, the family will have a time of fellowship with friends and family. To honor Dianne’s love of her NC State Wolfpack, guests are asked to wear red, white, and black or even an NC State shirt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wings of Hope of BC, 2206 Ash-Little River Road NW, Ash, NC, 28420, C/O Orbie Smith.
