Obituary
Theresa Elaine Ambrosio DeMarco, age 77 died Friday, July 19, 2024, at her home in Sunset Beach.
Theresa was born on March 15, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony and Caroline Molaro Ambrosio.
She was an active member and served as Cantor, a Lay Minister and Eucharistic Minister at many churches as well as at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Shallotte, NC. She attended the School of Art and Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Her talents included, singing, piano playing, multi-media artist, fashion design, seamstress, knitting, needlepoint, she was a master of spinning yarn, as well as cooking and baking to name a few. She worked as an Executive Secretary at the School Library System in Patchogue, NY. Also, as an Administrative Assistant at Duke University and Hospital, she also worked in the Cancer Department at Duke. She was an office assistant at the John Paul School in Florida. She also served as Guardian ad litem in the Florida Family Court System. Theresa also was a Faith Formation Educator for middle school students.
Theresa, loving wife and mother is survived by her husband: Sebastian Frank DeMarco; sons: Frank Steven DeMarco (Lisa) of Raleigh, NC; Richard J. DeMarco (Dawn) of Youngsville, NC; Gregory DeMarco (Beth) of Cary, NC; daughter Lisa Jean Lanier (Jason) of Wendell, NC; two sisters: Lucille Venezia of Inverness, Fl; Jean Brickweede of Homosassa, FL; grandchildren: Caitlin (Michael), Megan (Morgan), Jack, Nicholas, Anthony , Gregory, Jr, Xavier, Aiden Viola, Isabella-Grace; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Myer, and Wells; brother-in-law Michael and late brother-in-law Rick and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church 5101 Ocean Hwy W Shallotte, NC 28470. Interment will follow in the Church Columbarium.
