Thomas Joseph Carney III, 72, Calabash, NC passed away on February 22, 2023 at the Novant Hospital, Bolivia, NC from complications of lung cancer.
Born in Springfield, MA, Tom earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from North Adams State College in North Adams, MA. He retired from Conway Central Express in Allenwood, PA in 2015.
After retirement, Tom moved to North Carolina and settled in Calabash. He enjoyed going to the beach and took up drawing as a serious hobby. He loved and followed all sports. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and companion cat, Tommy.
The son of Thomas Joseph Carney II and Lucy (Nee Payne) Carney. He is survived by his wife Claire Carney, and his daughter Alison; his sister Margaret Jones, his brother Terrance Carney (Lynn), and Mark Carney, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, MaryAnn Frechette and Kathleen Lukasik.
A private cremation was held at Brunswick Funeral Service.
