Obituary
Tom Rose, age 90, passed away on May 11, 2024, in Shallotte, North Carolina. He was born on September 14, 1933, in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Tom, a former machinist, served in the US Navy for 4 years. Throughout his career, he worked at Gloucester Engineering in Massachusetts and later at Sewell Plastics & Constar in Orlando, Florida.
Tom was known for his sweet, caring, and helpful nature, although he became a quiet spirit in his later years. He was dedicated to caring for his wife, Mary, who had dementia, and they celebrated 66 years of marriage in April.
Tom enjoyed working with his hands, engaging in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and fixing cars. His hobbies included carpentry, gardening, cooking, and watching TV.
He is survived by his wife, Mary P Rose, sons Brian and Alan and daughter Kelly and sons-in-law Kevin and William, granddaughters Kelsey, Katie, and Kristin, and grandsons Michael, Brian and James. Tom was preceded in death by all his immediate family members.
A private Celebration of Life and sprinkling of ashes will be held for the family on Friday, May 24, 2024. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Research. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Brunswick Funeral Service in Shallotte, North Carolina.
