Veronia C. Hughes, 84, of Ash, NC died February 21, 2020.
Born in Horry County, SC on June 5, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Kermit Causey and Eva Bennett Causey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Justin Hughes; sisters, Reba Platt and Emma Neil Hewett, and a brother, Burnice (B.J.) Causey.
Surviving are her son, Timothy Hughes (Pam Phelps), Ash, NC; daughter, Amy Hughes (Dave Layton), Monroe, NC; brothers, Frank Causey (Lena Mae), and Lonnie Causey (Lula Mae), all of Shallotte.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 3:00 pm in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Landis Lancaster. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
