Vestal Parker Stanaland, 88, of Ash, NC died on Thursday, June 10, 2021.
Born in Brunswick County, NC on November, 15, 1932, he was a son of the late William Ernest Stanaland and Mary Parker Stanaland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Moore Stanaland and a son, William Parker Stanaland.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the McMilly Hunting Club. He was a life-long farmer in Ash which was his passion. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and would hold many pig pickings and fish fries inviting his many friends and family. His favorite pastime was riding by the Grissetttown Fire Department, socializing, and checking on his friends. He especially loved his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchild, Wyatt.
Surviving is his son, George Stanaland, Shallotte, NC; grandson, William Parker Stanaland, Jr. (Fiancee, Meredith Walters), and Justin Tyler Benton, all of Ash, NC; a brother, Deon Stanaland (Sharon), N. Myrtle Beach, SC.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 13, 2021 in the chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
