Obituary
Vincent “Vinnie” Joseph Melledy, age 68, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away on Monday March 22, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Astoria, NY on January 24, 1953 the son of the late, Vincent Melledy and Mary Agnes Hallinan Melledy also was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Melledy and a sister, Marion Melledy.
Mr. Melledy worked for the Town of Islip, NY from 1972 to 2008 as a Labor Crew Leader for the Department of Environment Control. He liked all kinds of Sports and was very active in Chris’s Softball Team and the Brunswick Slammers. He also was an avid golfer, a member of the Sunset Hybrids Golf Team and the Sandpiper Dragons Golf Team. Vincent loved life to the fullest and quiet humor will live on in the hearts that knew him and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his beloved life partner of 38 years, Alice McDonough; his sisters, Patricia Ellis (Bill) and Joyce Collins and a sister-in-law Angela Miele Melledy; many nieces, nephews and God Children.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday March 27, 2021 in Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte Chapel. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 PM Friday March 26, 2021 in Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte Chapel.
