Virginia Byers Hamrick, 91, of Oak Island, NC. Born on January 25, 1926 in Statesville, NC died on October 11, 2017.
She was a daughter of P.W. and Mabel Byers. She was a member of Oak Island Presbyterian Church, member of Oak Island Senior Citizens, Golden Rod Chapter Eastern Star, and Brunswick County Nurses White Hats. She was a registered nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Police officer Broadus Hamrick; one brother, Harry Byers; four sisters, Violet Morrison, Pearl Eagle, Grace Cope and Crystal Julian.
Survivors are, sons, Billy Fain Hamrick of Oak Island, NC, Broadus Dean Hamrick and wife Kim of Richmond, TX; grandsons, Major Bradly Hamrick of 3rd Army Command and Jacob Hamrick of Richmond TX; two great- grandchildren, Makayla and Easton Hamrick; sister, Mrs. Gerald Allen of Shelby, NC; brother in-law Glenn Julian; sister in-law Hazel Byers; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately by the family at a later date.
