Walter John Sral (1946-2023)
Walter John Sral, 76, of Bolivia, NC passed peacefully Friday, June 16, 2023 after a long battle with multiple myeloma and heart disease.
He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, December 29, 1946, the son of John Andrew and Mary Jean (Klein) Sral. He grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1964. Walt served in the U.S. Marine Corps and upon returning home he began his 48 year career in sales. Walt completed his diverse and rewarding career when he retired from Diocesan Publications Ltd. and enjoyed an active retirement working part-time at Home Depot in Shallotte, NC.
Walt was very active in several clubs and shared his enthusiasm with family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the New Cumberland Fire Department and the Marine Corps League. He belonged to a number of model railroad clubs. He was a member of the Brunswick County Law Enforcement Association, and the American Legion St. James Post. Walt will be remembered as a good man. He instilled love, honor, integrity, work ethic, and grit in everyone he interacted with.
Walt was married to Donna (Minor) of Summerhill, Pa. Walt and Donna raised their family in Pennsylvania.
Walt is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna; sisters, Jean Cardinal, Annette Cassel, and Claudia Cook; two children, John and his wife Kelley of Ruffin, SC, Denise Ingoe of Delta, Pa with Jason Ingoe of York, Pa; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, James (Lauren), Andrew (Sara), Jacob Ingoe, Isabelle Ingoe, and Michael Ingoe; 5 great grandchildren, Aidan, Anderson, Carter, Amelia, and Archer; and extended family throughout the U.S.
Walt was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Joseph and Michael.

A celebration of life will take place at the Palmetto Creek Clubhouse in Bolivia, NC on August 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
Military Funeral Honors and Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on July 27,2023 at 2:00 pm.
