Wesley Leroy Anderson, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, hairstylist and artist from Calabash, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 15, 2018 at the age of 81 at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Wesley dedicated his life to serving his Lord and his family. Originally from Rockland and Orange Counties in NY, he spent the last 13 years of his life in the beautiful town of Calabash.

Born on January 7, 1937 to Wesley and Barbara Anderson in Stony Point, NY. He married the love of his life Shirley Blair on November 22, 1956. While living in Rockland County Wesley owned and operated a beauty salon. Over the years he volunteered at church, teaching Sunday school. Wes was also a choir director and ran a successful Brunswick County Food Pantry at the Breath of Life Church in Sunset Beach. He enjoyed painting, gardening, decorating, dancing and spending time with his family.

Wesley is survived by his wife Shirley Anderson and their two children Dawn Anderson of Calabash, NC and Wesley Anderson Jr., and his wife Sherrie of Florida, NY. Wesley is also survived by four grandchildren Ryan, Christopher, Meagan and Melissa and six great-grandchildren as well as two sisters Andrea Tompkins, Evelyn Bertorelli and brother Randall Anderson.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 16th, 2:00 pm at the Breath of Life Ministries, 8148 Ocean Highway W, Sunset Beach, NC. A small gathering will follow at the Clubhouse in Wesley's community of Ocean Side Place in Calabash.
