William Alton "Al" Milliken, Jr.

William Alton “Al” Milliken, Jr., 73, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Al was born in Southport, NC on July 9, 1952, a son of the late William Alton, Sr., and Edna B. (EB) Mintz Milliken.

Al was co-owner and operator of Shallotte Electric Stores. He was a United States Army and National Guard Veteran with 26 years of service. He was also past president of the Lower Cape Fear Water & Sewer Authority, a member of the Board of Directors, and member of the 17 South Bluegrass Band.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years Glenda Jones Milliken; sons, William Alton Milliken, III, Casey Jordan Milliken, Rev. Christopher Stanley (Mandy) and Aaron Stanley (Cassie); daughter, Christina Cox (Tommy); brother, Jamie Milliken (Missy); grandchildren, Cole Duncan, Cally Lane (Colby), Clay Stanley (Samantha), Abbey Stewart (Paxton), Andy Blair Todd, Chase Cox, Noah Stanley, and Mason Stanley; great grandchildren, Grant Lane and June Cox; nephew Justin Milliken (Carmen); nieces, Megan Milliken (McCall); great nieces Maeve Milliken, Shelby Milliken and Asbury Milliken.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 3:00PM in the United Vision Pentecostal Church, 2408 A I Clemmons Rd SW, Shallotte, NC 28470. Burial will follow in the Brunswick Memorial Gardens, 5229 Ocean Hwy West, Shallotte, NC 28470.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00PM at the church and at other times from the residence.

Casketbearers will be Ronnie Gore, Ronnie Wilson, Mark Boyd, Aaron Stanley, Clay Stanley and Drew Brock. Honorary casketbearers Bobby Williamson and Ike Williamson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Al to the Boys & Girls Home of North Carolina, PO Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450.
