William Amos Kelly
Obituary
William Amos Kelly, aged 84, passed away at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River, SC on November 3, 2022, after a long illness. He was born in Union Hall, Virginia on December 27, 1937, and spent his youth in Franklin County. He was a graduate of Lynchburg University. He spent his career in juvenile justice. He served as the Director of Juvenile Court for Roanoke City. He subsequently retired as the Regional Administrator for the Virginia State Department of Juvenile Justice. After retiring, Bill and Kathy relocated to Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina where they were currently residing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norton R., and Virginia English Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 40-years Kathryn Barker Kelly and his children Michael A. Kelly (Barbara), Shannon B. Kelly and Andy Harrison (Beth). He is also survived by his grandchildren Joshua Kelly, Mae Wallace Harrison, and Murphy Harrison. Also surviving is his sister, Phyllis Kelly Jeter (David).
