William (Bill) Floyd Taylor, Jr., loving husband and father, went home to heaven Tuesday 7/21/2020. He was 81 years old.
Bill was born in Memphis, Tennessee and was the son of Clara Sims and William Floyd Taylor, Sr.
Bill married Gloria Taylor in 2002. He was a gentle, humble man who really loved his family. He loved Jesus and was an avid golfer, having moved to the Sea Trail community in Sunset Beach where he could golf year-round following his retirement from Sandoz Pharmaceuticals (Novartis). He was an active member in his church (Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church), where he loved to serve others. He also served his country in the National Guard and attended Memphis University during his years in Memphis.
We will all miss him, but we are comforted by the fact that he is with our heavenly Father, now and forever.
Bill is survived by his wife, Gloria Taylor, daughter Shari Lyn Taylor and her husband, Gregory Leo Cockrell, daughter Cynthia Anne Newby, sister Patricia Veith, and his grandchildren – Robert Christopher Hardy, Kimberlee Taylor Hardy, and Liya Grace Taylor. Bill was preceded in death by his son William (Billy) Taylor III.
No service will be held at this time, but at a future date a memorial service will be held at his church – Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
