Obituary
William Harris Locke, Jr., 82, of Sunset Beach passed away April 12, 2018. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 17, 1935, the son of William Harris Locke and Florence Leibfried Locke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Mary Edgar Locke who raised him as her own.
He was a veteran of the US Navy and remained a true patriot through membership in various veteran organizations. He spent his career with Gulf/Chevron Oil Co. as a marketing manager in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2003 he retired happily to play golf in Sunset Beach.
He lived life to the fullest and loved to be surrounded by friends and family.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years Diane Wright Locke; sons, William Harris Locke, III (Naz) of Washington, DC and Thomas Edward Locke (Angela) of Virginia Beach, VA; daughters, Debra Locke Siegel (Craig) of Havre De Grace, MD and Jennifer Anne Wagner (Michael) of Minneapolis, MN; brother, Robert A. Locke of Willow Street, PA; nine grandchildren, Allison, Andrew and Evan Siegel, Lindsay, Thomas, Michael, and Ethan Locke, Lily and Coleton Wagner.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 17, at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte, by The Rev. Jason Benton. Doors will open for visitation at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of one’s choice in Bill’s name.
