Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William J. Istvan on November 10, 2025, in Shallotte, NC. William was 80 years old.
His memory will be treasured by his beloved wife Barbara Istvan and family.
Bill and Barbara both graduated from Ardsley High School, Ardsley, New York and resided in the area until moving to Stratford Connecticut. There they raised 2 children, Roy and Deborah. They were involved in church, family, sports and the Bunnell Bulldog Club.
Heading south in 2004 continuing his business of B & B Property Service with daughter Deborah. William enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 14 nieces and nephews! He was known as Papa to all that knew him! He was our Mr. Fix It! What he enjoyed best was being surrounded by his family! He was truly our Rock and will be terribly missed.
He is predeceased by his 4 brothers Joe Istvan, George Istvan, Jack Istvan, and Steve Istvan. He is survived by a sister Claudia in Punta Gorda, Florida. William also leaves behind his beloved wife Barbara Istvan of 61 years, son Roy Istvan and wife Kristin Istvan, daughter Deborah Istvan, grandchildren Danielle Wertman, Nicholas Wertman, Jayline Istvan, Zachariah Istvan and Kambria Istvan; great-grandchildren Jaiden Vaught, Elijah Hunt, and Armani Hunt.
Family will have private services.
